Behavior Policy

Behavior & Conduct Policy

At Neighborhood Enrichment Camps, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and positive environment where all children can learn, create, and thrive. To ensure a successful experience for every camper, we ask families to review and support the following behavior expectations.

Camper Expectations

All campers are expected to:

  • Treat peers, instructors, and staff with kindness and respect
  • Follow instructions given by camp instructors and staff
  • Use materials and equipment safely and responsibly
  • Keep hands, feet, and objects to themselves
  • Participate positively and allow others to learn without disruption

Positive Behavior Approach

Our instructors use positive reinforcement, redirection, and age-appropriate guidance to support healthy behavior. We emphasize communication, problem-solving, and emotional regulation, helping children learn how to express themselves respectfully and work cooperatively in group settings.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are not permitted:

  • Physical aggression (hitting, pushing, kicking)
  • Verbal aggression, bullying, or disrespectful language
  • Repeated disruption of activities
  • Intentional damage to property
  • Refusal to follow safety rules or staff directions

Behavior Intervention Steps

If inappropriate behavior occurs, the following steps may be taken:

  1. Verbal reminder and redirection
  2. Time to reflect or brief separation from the activity
  3. Parent/guardian notification
  4. In cases of ongoing or severe behavior, dismissal from camp without refund

Parent Partnership

We believe positive behavior is best supported through partnership with families. Parents may be contacted to discuss strategies if a child is struggling, and we appreciate family support in reinforcing expectations at home.

Safety First

Any behavior that compromises the safety or well-being of campers or staff will be addressed immediately and may result in removal from the program.
